Northern Lights - Split Eagle & Raven Sunrise

Northern Lights – Split Eagle & Raven Sunrise

Installed in Alaska in 2018 Northern Lights – Split Eagle & Raven Sunrise represents a place where sunrise and sunset can mingle throughout a single day and the darkest night can glow with unearthly colors. Pairing this luminescent duality with the welcoming of two main clans of the Tlingit people, Eagle and Raven, acts to create a celestial duality in full color. These panels were installed along the second level balconies, entrance and lobby area of the building.

Realized in hand painted sandblasted glass this collabortive piece by artists Preston Singletary and David Franklin adds color, regional design, and a feeling of place.
